Biofuels

I just found a small article about biofuel research in Canada. It is basically saying that our country has turned more toward the production of electric cars and the research behind them. Canada on the other hand has been putting about 2.3 billion dollars into this new biofuel research and they have come a far way into it. They are able to create this new RENEWABLE fuel source. I have a great out look on it for the future. It emits no carbon into the air because it is created from all natural plants. This can be grown and made at a fast rate unlike the oil that takes millions of years to make and is already running out as you can see from our 4:1 fuels barrel consumption to collection rate. They say that they are planning on going commercial within the next four years with these plans to create an industry out of it. That is the kind of thing we need to move toward. Not only should it be the way of the future, but it will also give us a new fuel, more jobs for workers and hopefully make a change to the way we view the Earth. We are going to have to give and take from it instead of just take. Unfortunately the oil workers will lose jobs if this really kicks off, but they can always try to find work at the new biofuels plants. I just think that this is a really cool new way for us to fuel things and find a replacement for gas because it can be as, if not more reliable than gas because we know it wont run out as long as we still know how to farm. Let me know what you think of the new biofuel ideas. Between biofuels, wind power, and solar power we could have an oil free world.

I Few Easy Things You Can Do to Save Energy

Here are just a few easy tips you can use to save energy and gas consumption:
1.) Turn off lights after you are done with them
2.) TVs, especially newer LCD and plasma TVs will use up lots of energy if you leave them on even though the cable is turned off.
3.) Unplug your cell phone chargers after you are done with them. Even though your phone is not connected, they will still use up electricity
4.) Heating in your home. Turn it down a little, you don't need it to be too hot. It is worth wearing a sweatshirt to save gas and money
5.) Replace old light bulbs with LED lights. They may be more expensive, but they use less electricity and they last longer.
6.) Carpool. It may not be the most pleasing to some people, but it can be fun and save energy. It is worth a try.

Those are just a few things on a long list of things you can do to help be more energy efficient and help reduce the carbon footprint of you and people you know...

Clean Energy

http://www2.goldmansachs.com/our-firm/progress/energy/index.html?cid=31010699

This a link I have found to an environmental business. They are funding clean fuel in the world and have already put 3 billion dollars into supporting their efforts. They know the way of the future. Oil barrels are just not coming out at the same rate that they used to. For every 4 barrels of oil that we use up, only one is collected... it shows you something, oil is going to run out and we have to do something about it. There are many types of energy that don't though. WE have things like solar power and wind turbines. We will never run out of the sun or wind. Everything we do involves gas and it is polluting our world at an alarming rate. People are complaining that the main reason that we shouldn't use wind turbines is that they don't look good. Personally I don't think that the giant black clouds coming out of factories look too great either. This new energy is always going to be there and it is the step we are going to have to take unless our civilization wants to take a giant step back and go back to doing things by hand because oil is running out. Science is finding ways to solve these issue of our solar panels not being the best out there, but we are making an effort to make progress as a civilization. Who knows? Maybe this new solar technology will help us explore more in space. We will be able to travel longer distances and learn new things. Maybe even find a way to turn things like dark matter (which makes up most of the universe) into some type of useful energy. People just need to keep their minds open and these guys are doing what I believe is right. It may be worth it to shed a few bucks and get some solar panels just to even power part of your house. It is a worthy investment. Energy bills will go down and so will your carbon foot print.

I am Still Here...

I found this posted article by Al Gore on Twitter this morning and it just goes to show that Global Warming is still around and people cant afford to ignore it. Like I said in the previous blog. People need to know the difference between "weather" and "climate". This is the perfect example of home people are wrong and need to learn the facts. I putting all of this up to help inform, but I also want to learn from what other people have to say so that I could be more educated so if people could respond and give me their input that would be great. Happy New Year!

Trying to Start Off the New Year Better

http://www.southjerseylocalnews.com/articles/2010/12/31/opinion/doc4d1b8a90bd557657088371.txt?viewmode=fullstory

As I was reading through articles on global warming I found this one. Although it is kind of short I found it striking that people are dismissing the whole thought of global warming. As some one had commented on it, people need to learn the difference between "weather" and "climate" changes. The weather may be cold. So what? It does not meant that the world's warming is over. There are always years where the weather is generally was or cold. In the past one hundred years our average Earth temperature has risen over a single degree. People may not think much about that, but in the long run it could be devastating. That one degree could melt non-ocean glaciers which would raise the sea level higher and higher each year. Places below sea level then have to worry how long it will be before they have to relocate. That degree can make oceans just that much warmer to create stronger hurricanes that will lead to more devastation. People think that just because the weather is cold when it is supposed to be, then scientists are wrong and global warming is still just a myth. Small things like that degree can alter the climate making storms stronger and drought longer. It will melt the glaciers our kids will never get to see. You can look at any accurate chart or graph and any one can see where it is headed. People just want to deny it like these people that wrote the article. People do not want to change their life style because everything is so convenient now. The only thing is that it wont be so convenient in the future so if you still do not believe me go and watch " An Inconvenient Truth" it may help set your mind straight. I still cannot believe what I saw in that film. It is well worth your time. Let's start off this new year right and make it a better one for our planet!

My first blog

Hey all that are now viewing this. I am just looking for supporters now that can help me blog and can give me advice because i am a first time blogger. I just feel that awareness to Global Warming needs to be brought up due to the fact that the news has dropped the issue. So if you have any other bloggers you know that are on the same topic if you could lead me to them too that would be great. Thanks a lot and i hope to be posting an actual blog soon!
